As you know, African Americans have been disproportionately impacted by this diabolical disease, so I have been committed to providing researched-based information to help our community recover from this monster which has ravaged so many homes, places of worship, schools, and businesses this year.

Therefore, we are partnering with Dr. Lane Rolling to heighten community awareness on this seemingly endless plague, and most importantly, to share his insights and expertise in virology gleaned from his global, medical, military background.

Several months ago, Dr. Rolling predicted that the virus was here for the foreseeable future and that it would begin to peak again in the month of October. Sadly, his predictions were 100% accurate, but his caveat did not come without information on prevention. What’s worse for Tennesseans is that it was recently revealed that TN has the highest rate of coronavirus transmission in not only the United States, but the world. This is not the contest we wanted to win. And, if that weren’t bad enough, the County of Shelby has the highest rate of transmission in the state. So, Shelby County has the highest rate in the world. We had been planning this discussion months ago but as we re-enter phases of stay-at-home orders, it is quite appropriate that we host this talk now. We MUST do better.

Dr. Lane Rolling

Director of Clinical Education and Research, Tropical Pathology and Infectious Disease Association

Recently dubbed the ‘Black Dr. Fauci”, Dr. Rolling is a loving father, a Microbiologist, Pathogenic Virologist and Trauma Surgeon. He is nationally known and well respected in his field and serves as medical advisor and leader for numerous organizations and corporations. He serves as Director of Clinical Education & Research Tropical Pathology & Infectious Disease Association and is the Chief Medical Officer of SRS, a Tennessee-based, minority-owned corporation providing disaster response services.

Dr. Alisa Haushalter

A native of Nashville, TN, was recently appointed to the directorship of the Shelby County Health Department, located in Memphis. In her own words, this was her “dream” career goal. To serve a community with the social and economic complexities and diversity of Memphis. Little did she know, that in less than two years after her taking the position, her dream would materialize into a virtual nightmare for the county and the world! She has the daunting task of navigating Shelby County through this ordeal and she has done so with razor sharp focus, fairness, and compassion, trying to balance the health risks of citizens with the economic challenges of Shelby County businesses.

Boo Mitchell

Boo is no stranger to the Memphis area and the music he and his father have produced throughout the years is popular around the globe for generations past, present and future. The son of Willie Mitchell, Boo is the Grammy winning managing engineer of Royal Studios, a Memphis TREASURE since 1956.

Moderated by Memphis' Own "Bell Ringer"

Stan Bell is no stranger to the Mid-South area. He communicates on and off the air. He has become one of Memphis’ most energetic and beloved radio personalities spanning his 30+ year career in the Bluff City. He can be heard on I-Heart Media-Memphis’  V-101.1, 95.7 Hallelujah FM.  He is a proud husband, father and educator at Shelby County Schools.

Royal Studios

Royal Studios boasts having made a host of gold platinum recordings one of which even President Obama tried to sing when he paid tribute to that distinctive Memphis sound of the incomparable Al Green!
